Proof optioned for TV – Samuel L. Jackon involved?

Proof has been one of my favorite comics and it sits in that odd area of not having strong sales (shockingly low when I saw the figures) yet being a property that is completely commercially viable. Proof is what you’d think would sell and is not an all an avant-garde project that you’d think would find having initial problems with gaining audience. The truth is there are a lot of Image titles like this. Excellent, completely accessible, but smart and consistent titles that too often go unnoticed. I would point people to Image’s site as they offer the chance to read the first issues of may of their titles.

Proof is just fun comics: a Sasquatch and his Fed partner hunting down (other) cryptids for the government. A pimped out Sasquatch. It’s a mixture of Burroughs adventure and contemporary paranormal/SF television. While it’s only an option, I’m very pleased to see any news of a chance for this title to get extra exposure even with just the (often ridiculous) buzz that an announcement option garners.

Proof’s creators are Alex Grecian and Riley Rossmo and their title has been optioned by Kickstart Entertainment. C2F is reporting that Futurama writer Evan Gore is set to write the first episode. They are also reporting that Samuel L. Jackson may be attached to lend his voice to bigfoot.

“Yes, they deserved to die and I hope they burn in hell!”

If it’s Samuel L. it’s Syrup-approved.
